1. The service

Vessel Signature is a platform for documenting, verifying, and certifying the maintenance history of recreational boats: maintenance records with photos and invoices, verification levels, Trust and Care Scores, and shareable reports.

2. What certification means — and does not mean

Our certification seals records: it proves that a documented entry existed at a point in time and has not been altered since. It is not an inspection, survey, or warranty of the vessel itself. Scores reflect the quality and consistency of documentation, not the physical condition of the boat. Vessel Signature is not a substitute for a professional marine survey, and we accept no liability for purchase decisions made on the basis of documented history.

3. Your account and your content

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for having the right to upload the photos, invoices, and manuals you add. Your data remains yours: we process it only to provide the service (see the Privacy Policy). You grant us the licence needed to store, display, and — when you generate a public report or verification link — publish the relevant content to holders of that link.

4. Honest records

The value of the platform rests on records being truthful. Creating fraudulent records, misrepresenting verification (for example, confirming your own work as a third party), or manipulating scores is a material breach and grounds for immediate termination.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices include or add VAT as required by your country. Statutory consumer rights, including EU withdrawal rights, are unaffected.

6. Free tier

The free tier covers one boat with unlimited records, passages and tracks. Its limits are on leverage, not on capture: one manual on file, a monthly allowance of answered questions to Bosun, and the features named as Signature Core. We may adjust these limits with notice. Everything you logged remains yours and accessible if you downgrade.

7. Acceptable use

No unlawful content, no attempts to break, overload, or probe the service, no scraping of other users’ data, no reselling of the service without our written agreement.

8. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep the service reliable but provide it “as is”, without warranty of uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practicable.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
